A space to stand still time, as if the control over such freedom were in our own hands. Utopia is a dream to daydream about that conveys all the joviality and creative spirit of architect Carlos Carvalho.

In the condition of one who is free, which came to him when conceiving the project, the author conveys the same unmoored feeling to the audience when interpreting this playful outdoor area. Utopia opens the imagination like a kind of toy box, with openings, arches and portals that arouse curiosity as its four different and unique sides are revealed.

A silent and attentive observation that warrants motion, taking a walk around the project with a strong calling to contemplation, whether a performance, a work of art, or even stillness.

Utopia makes use of stripes in the floor through cutouts of the Dansk porcelain tile line, a reproduction of concrete in two shades of gray, one lighter and one darker, almost black. The geometric patterns intersect, always exploring infinity.

Powerful graphic design, so characteristic of the Rio de Janeiro architect’s work, is also present through a touch of color that makes the space even more reflective and irreverent. Palissandro, on the other hand, a reproduction of the marble with a light blue background used in giant formats, highlights the richness of detail and the limitless possibilities for inspiration.
