A house you can close your eyes and easily imagine yourself living in. Martin Corullon’s dream house could also be yours, ours. The shared desire for this habitat is driven by balance in the relationship of introspection, represented by moments of total privacy, with extroversion, when this space is open to interact with the world outside.

The In and Out House, although raised from the ground as if on a pedestal, brings the conventional program of a residence, with two floors, without hiding its Modernist heritage. The overhanging structure explores the contrast between the lightness of the implementation and the weight of the stony-textured slabs. Form goes hand-in-hand with function.

The vacant central space, which organizes circulation and ventilation, plays the role of link between the floors in a kind of inside-out courtyard, where you circulate and confirm the continuity and autonomy of the spaces. With distinctive volumetry, the In and Out House manages to maintain the connection between its environments through this lack of interruption and the majority use of different lines of porcelain tiles in darker shades, including the pool, with Sunset Fairbanks, a coating in shades of black that ensures a unique elegance.

On a large interior wall, Martin makes an almost emotional choice by applying Kit Soma, part of the line co-created by Paulo Mendes da Rocha, his partner and master of the profession, and his daughter Nadezhda Mendes da Rocha, with Portobello. The tiling, now on a new scale, paves the way to cross limits and to dream.
