On the highlands of a small island, on Jurassic Coast, 200km from London, in the English Channel, there is a very special stone. Portland Stone! It is a cold and grayish limestone, which inspired the name of Portland cement and it is prevalent in construction sites all over the world. In New York, in the UN building, in various construction sites in London including the reconstructed part of Buckingham
Palace after the fire of 1666, in the St. Paul’s Cathedral, among others.
This stone is the starting point and the inspiration of this design project.
Concrete is made from limestone, we have redesigned the stone. Now stone, thereafter concrete. It is pure design.
For internal and external use, Portland Stone is contemporary, yet traditional, its beauty is bold; this is the stone that was missing.
